Jonghyun noticed the arched eyebrow but was left to wonder what exactly it meant. He was about to think Taemin was mysterious just as he uttered his next words, it means what it means. If Jonghyun had known the other better he might have playfully punched at their shoulder or tugged on their arm while asking for them to ‘Please Taemin-ah, tell me. Please? I wanna know!’ but they were still strangers it seemed for Jonghyun merely nodded his head and folded his arms across his chest, his slightly tanned skin being placed over the white v-neck shirt he was wearing. “Everything means what it means and sometimes things only mean what you want them to mean.”
Two can play at this game, he thought.
The reserved nature in which Jonghyun reacted to him did not seem to phase the pale figure that made up Taemin. Instead the smile lingered, perhaps even turned into something of a smirk or—a grin. “If things only mean what you want them to mean then they do not really mean anything at all—since it is only a want for it to be so, not actually meaning it”, he spun further, words soft velvet from his lips as they pursed and shaped themselves around the syllables which structured his sentence. “But then it must have another meaning, if it does not mean what you want them to mean. Which means you’re wrong, things do not sometimes only mean what you want them to mean—it means multiple things, all seen at different angles.” He sucked in air between his teeth, shaking his head briefly in a gesture of pondering. “Could you say it is like a diamond with many facets. But aniyo, you can still tell it’s a diamond. Unless you’re blind. Then you might be a bit confused.”
