Jonghyun couldn’t help but laugh even more,”I would tell my job to be less busy except it doesn’t exactly work like that.” He smiled, clear amusement written over all of the features of his face as he continued to walk along. His eyes, behind shades even though it was night, continued to survey their surroundings. He wasn’t usually one to wander by himself and in fact he wasn’t exactly allowed to be wandering but that was one of the beauties of the night — people needed to sleep and while people slept Jonghyun could escape. Or, as he liked to put it, breathe. This was why at Taemin’s other question, he replied immediately without hesitation, “Nighttime.” A soft chuckle escaped him and he shook his head, “No… not bad, just different.”
“Does it not?” Taemin mused out. “That is one very rude job which should go take a hike”, he went on, taking a hand out of the pockets of his jacket to brush his hair out of his eyes, before it briefly touched at the delicate golden necklace resting by the meeting of his collarbones. “Maybe it would learn to be more humble.” With his pale hand soon tucked back into his pocket, he let his gaze swerve sideways again, to Jonghyun. Humans. They often trusted him to be in their presence without knowing what kind of damage he could do. Sometimes he even wondered if they would back away if they knew, but then he remembered all the people who had backed away in the past, and the answer seemed solid as winter. “We are both, mmh… what’s it called, night owls, then”, he said, a smile gracing his lips, soft and easy. “Though it makes me wonder when you sleep, Jonghyun-ssi.”
