Jonghyun couldn’t help but snort, “Yeah I guess so.” His eyes focused on the vibrant sign ahead of them reading out ‘Alleyway Cavern’ and continued talking, “It’s hard to explain in words. It’s sort of like… everyone searches their entire lives to find their purpose but I’ve known mine since I was probably twelve years old. From that point on I worked as hard as I could to get to where I am today so after spending more than a decade to get here… it’s worth all of the sacrifice because I made it. I really made it.” Maybe it was the way he hadn’t been blinking but his eyes watered ever so slightly and he blinked at the sign a few times before glancing over at Taemin. It was the first time he’d really taken in the sight before him. His hair was styled to frame his face perfectly, cheekbones and plush lips holding his gaze for the longest before taking in his outfit. It was odd to realize that you had been conversing and wandering with a stranger, the other’s words the thing that set him a little off-guard. “That’s… uh.. that’s funny.” He said with a small laugh as he opened the door to the restaurant and held it open for him, as an idol hearing things like that always triggered a certain part of himself.
Finding purpose, Taemin’s mind repeated in a soft whisper, a quiet longing too long kept to be held up with much hope. He gazed at the other man and wondered how it felt to have such a purpose, to have had something he had been able to work towards without something coming so in the way it would be impossible any longer. He wondered what it was like to reach your dream, to have it in your grasp, and keep it. He did not even know what it was Jonghyun had worked so hard for, but hearing him speak of it made his thoughts roll as gentle waves crashing upon his shore, wishing it could reach further. “Is it something creative, that you do?” he found himself asking, as the resonance of his words had given such a lustre. He watched him, as every step took them closer to the restaurant, with it’s shine bringing some light to the dark. “Mmh”, he hummed out when the other man spoke again, head cocking to the side, but he made no comment of it, as he merely bowed his head in a small, graceful gesture, before slipping within the restaurant. The scents of different foods now heavy in his nose, but he showed no notion of it, whilst clasping his hands lightly behind himself. So this was where the other would feed.
